
Since the beginning of time, or at least since hominids started walking upright, women have watched men enjoy the talent of peeing standing up. From writing their name in the snow to being able to effortlessly turn around on a climb and relieve themselves while we can only look on in envy thinking of all the buttons, snaps, zippers, harnesses, and layers that have to be undone and removed for us to do the same. So a number of creative companies decided to give women at least the power to pee standing up too, whether it actually is as fun as it looks is still being heatedly debated. Some female climbers swear by the Freshette, or similar Female Urinary Devices such as the Go-Girl, while others give a very emphatic “no thank you.” So at Alpine Athena we posed the question – To Freshette or Not to Freshette?
