
Dara Miles profiles female East Coast AMGA guide, ice climber and alpinist Emilie Drinkwater. Emilie Emilie has been a climbing guide & instructor in the East Coast region since 2000. Among her accomplishments include alpine ice on Mt. Katahdin, alpine rock in Alaska’s Little Switzerland, waterfall ice in the Canadian Rockies, long free climbs in Red Rocks and Yosemite, and big walls in Zion Canyon.

Alpine Athena’s Editor sits down with Carolyn Brodsky, founder and President of Sterling Ropes, to find out how she started the company and what it’s like being the creative force behind the successful and innovative rope company.

Caroline George is a world-traveler, ice climber, alpinist, rock climber, skier, IFMGA mountain guide, French/Swiss/American who speaks four languages, has three homes – Chamonix, Salt Lake City, but mainly the road and a husband she gets to do all those adventures with. Caroline has done first ascents all over the world (Ethiopia, Iceland, Norway, Canada, etc.) and is always looking for new adventures. She is currently in Antarctica guiding Vinson and doing first ski descents of unclimbed peaks and will then go on to Jordan for more adventures before going back to Europe for the ski season. She sits down with Alpine Athena to tells us about how she started climbing, her favorite climb, her nemesis, her connection to climbing and much more.
